This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline.
A RUSTIC BUNTING, possibly a first basic plumaged male, has been seen
in Leavenworth, Chelan Co. WA. Since at least Sat, Jan 9. The bird is
at the home of Connie McCully (sp?) and you are requested to call
ahead before visiting. Connie's number is 509-548-5582.
Two SNOWY OWLS are around Moses Lake, Grant Co, WA. Cindy McCormack
found both birds in their usual haunt just east of Moses Lake near
Road L NE and Nelson Road on Jan 18. WA DeLorme 69, CD-7.
An Oregon SWAMP SPARROW was found Jan 19 in McNary Park below McNary
Dam, near Umatilla, Umatilla Co. OR by Mike and MerryLynn Denny. Look
for the bird along the trail near walking post #7. Check either WA
DeLorme 29, A-6 or OR DeLorme 85, A-7.
An Idaho SWAMP SPARROW was found Jan 18 near Kamiah, Idaho Co., ID
along the Clearwater River in the Heart of the Monster area of the Nez
Perce National Historic Park. Charles Swift found the bird in the
brushy, back water slough just opposite the parking area. ID DeLorme
55, B-4.
