Hi All -

I have recently taken on the challenge of helping Seattle Audubon address
the Important Bird Areas Program. This is a National Audubon Program to
"establish a network of sites (important bird areas) in each state to be
protected or managed for the conservation of birds and bird habitat."

Each Audubon chapter is working on this project but the list i have
recently reviewed leaves a lot of blanks in eastern Washington and the most
coverage around Puget Sound.

I am trying to round out the list of nominated sites for Washington.

I am hoping you all- with your great birding experience can help me. I am
really want to make sure King County (since i am represented SAS) is well
covered- however i also want to make sure important sites outside of King
County and western Washington get covered.

If anyone would like to help me- please send me your site nominations for
important bird areas...
- i will need justification for the nomination (good reasons include: lg
concentrations of many species or critical habitat for one rare/ declining
species, holds species in rare or threaten habitat types, etc....).
- site location information is also important- references using the WA
Atlas and Gazetteer would be great.

thank you for all your help and time with this. If you have questions or
would help me with this project- please email me.

sincerely,

Jennifer Seavey
