Two of these birds were seen here in Southern California in the spring of
1998.
The first at Sycamore Canyon (on the coast N of Malibu). It was reported
being
seen for about two weeks, then disappeared. The second about a week
later at a small Audubon refuge 80 or so miles northeast in the mountain
foothills near San Bernadino. Same bird? Both were assumed to be escapees,
and neither was ever seen again to my knowledge.
