I was just speaking with David Allinson. He was out at Rocky Point at the southern tip of Vancouver Island on Sunday (January 24), and saw the spectacle of an estimated 24,000 COMMON MURRES passing by in a one hour period. They were heading east toward Victoria at a rate of approximately 400 birds/minute.

The six overwintering TURKEY VULTURES were still at Rocky Point on Sunday.
