Hi,
That sticky permit issue arises again. Here is another official word from John Garret and Mike Fraidenberg (both WDFW employees).
1. You will need a vehicle use permit for each car you want to park at improved access sites.
2. IMPORTANT - you do not need one until April 1, 1999. Yes, this is correct.
3. Yes, you can buy the $6. interim fish license and get a VUP good until 3/31/2000. The cheapest way to go.
4. As to sticking it on your vehicle: I vote for the inside route, except that the law clearly says it must be affixed in a manner that it cannot be easily removed. Therefore, I suggest that you call Mr. Fraidenberg and ask him this technical question. He can be reached at the main WDFW # in Olympia (360)902-2200.

Hope this clears up any misunderstandings. I am keeping well versed on this issue as I am working to resolve some serious conflicts with this new law and the decisions that WDFW is making on its implementation.

Happy birding.
