Our ELWAS (E.L.WA AS) had a field trip to West Seattle birding the shoreline
from Harbor Is. to Lincoln Park. It was a cool, wet day with rain most of the
time, but 12 birders still saw 30 species including:
3 Grebe species
Brant - 20-30
Harlequin Duck - 6
Common and Barrow's Goldeneye
Surf Scoter - large numbers
Red-breasted Merganser - large numbers
Black Turnstone - 6-8
Surfbird - 6-8
Red-breasted Sapsucker - beautifully colored
There was a cross-country race going on at Lincoln Park which limited our
birding there.
