We went for a walk in the adjacent Clark's Creek park and fish
hatchery in Puyallup today when the rains paused. Saw:
yellow crowned kinglet
ruby crowned kinglet
song sparrow
mallard ducks
hooded mergansers
bufflehead ducks
green-winged teal
2 kingfishers,one each sex
American robins
black capped chickadee
chestnut-backed chickadee
bushtits
& highlights of the day:
2 red tailed hawks that were calling to each other and flitting (if
hawks can flit) back and forth in the tree tops - looked like they
were thinking of being amorous.
and a flock of 5 butterbutts.
the butter butts must have followed us home as I noticed a flock of
five in my yard a couple of hours later at the suet feeders.
