HP PhotoSmart is supposedly quite good and reasonably priced. Not
quite good enough for critical publication needs, but far far more
than you need for the web. There's at least one third-party
shareware driver out there that's reputed to do a better job than
HP's own, too.

However, unless you LOVE to feed a scanner and watch it take a
minute or two per slide scan, I highly recommend Photo CDs. From
Wy'East, for instance (who now have a Seattle office) or from a
variety of good-quality mail-order labs you can get good scans
for about $1.50 apiece, written to CD, a bit over a 100 per
CD. While you'll save money soon enough by buying your own
scanner, the time in involved in scanning a lot of slides makes
that option grim IMO.

All of the slide scans on my website were done by Wy'East at
a $1.50/scan...
