Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday July 1. If you have anything to add call

On June 26 a BAR-TAILED GODWIT was found among a flock of WHIMBREL on the
Bayocean Shorebird Flats at Tillamook Bay. It was seen again the next
day. GREATER YELLOWLEGS, SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, and LEAST and WESTERN
SANDPIPERS were also on the flats. Two dark ALBATROSS were off Cape
Meares, and two subadult MEW GULLS were at Bayocean June 26.

During the week COMMON GRACKLES were reported from Sycan Marsh in Lake
County and at Page Springs Campground in Harney County. On June 28 a male
BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW was with a group of JUNCOS at the Blitzen Crossing
Campground on Steens Mountain.

An injured ROSS'S GOOSE is now at Bandon Marsh NWR. A MOCKINGBIRD was on
the North Spit of Coos Bay June 27. Migrant SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS and
WESTERN SANDPIPERS were also there. An unidentified GOLDEN-PLOVER was at
the South Jetty of the Columbia River June 23.

On June 26 an ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was at the Sandy River Delta east
of Portland.

On June 23 an adult REDSTART was at the hummingbird spot on Indian Ford
Creek north of Sisters. The territorial LEAST FLYCATCHER is still at
milepost 12.8 along Cayuse Road east of Pendleton.

Several YELLOW RAILS were heard June 23 along the Silver Lake Road
through the Klamath Marsh NWR. A WANDERING TATTLER was at Cow Lakes in
Malheur County June 22. A sick POMARINE JAEGER was found near halfway in
Baker County June 28. It later died.
