I'm glad to see your rebuttal, Scott. I thought I had Olive-sided
flycatcher on my BBS route the first year, then when I went back and
listened to the tpaes (Birds of the Pacfic NW, and Eleanor Pugh's tape)
I realized that I had only heard two notes of the call and the third
note was missing. I also decided that the Olive-sided flycatcher song
was close to the California Quail song, and I am pretty familiar with
that, and the Western wood peewee is not close enough for my ear to any
quail. It has a buzzier sound and not as clear notes it seems to me. But
there some bird songs out there that I still am trying to figure out!
