Lydia,

I've seen swallows mobbing Osprey hunting over the ponds on
Spencer Island, so it wouldn't surprize me to see them chasing
a hawk. The Osprey normally only takes fish, so possibly just
the appearance of being raptor-like is enough for the swallows
to cue on. I only recall seeing this once though and there
are certainly plenty of other raptors, including Red-tails in
this area and similar areas.
