Hi Tweeters,

I took a stroll down by the creek this morning, mainly to hunt for my young kestrel friends. Instead, I found where the scrub jays must have nested and was roundly scolded by the parents and their very fat young one. Then I found black capped chickadees. Going on down the creek I heard and saw a large bird flying back and forth. I realized it was going to a hole in the bank of the creek, and it was a kingfisher! I'm surprised I've never seen or heard them when I'm out rambling around the place. I did hear kestrels, but didn't spot them. I'll have to ramble that way more frequently.
