To make this "On topic".........

Has anybody observed the behavior of birds before, during and after
earthquakes? Do they spook like our domesticated non-human family
members?

My cats spooked during our 18-60 second "ride" Friday evening. For about
fifteen minutes they regressed to the level of clingy six-week old
kittens...... following me every where I went.

My personal feeling about quakes.....I won't let them bother me unless
they knock out the power. But this one bordered on the unnerving because
it just went on and on and on and on.......
