Observed at feeders and ground feeding on Saturday AN, 7/3: Finch size or
slightly smaller-hanging out with house finches; red mask; white beak(sharper
than a grossbeak's); black head with heavy white cheeks; tan body with small
white vest; wings black with yellow; tail black with large white
spots. Bird almost identical to f. Goldfinch in Collins, Birds of GB and
Eu, p.344-5. What is it? Ed Level, Everett.
