Happy Blue Sky Days!
Did the Lake Fenwick trail this weekend.....Started at Woodland Estates
and hiked up the ridge and down to the lake.
The Green Herons have moved on. That little lake is getting pretty yucky
with algae. No squabbling chickadees today.
Here's what I did see:
GREAT BLUE HERON in the Woodland Estates grounds.
NORTHERN FLICKERS 3 young ones in the trees near the algae filled pond
near Woodland Estates, one mature on the ridge above Lake Fenwick.
AMERICAN ROBINS Many youngsters!
SPOTTED TOWHEE One adult, two youngsters
CEDAR WAXWINGS Four!
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH
SONG SPARROW
FOX SPARROW
WOOD DUCK mom and two youngsters
MALLARDS These ducks were having a grooming fit! They were diving,
scratching and splashing all over the place and having a grand old time.
They were either females or youngsters.....didn't look like "courtship".
People watching was better than bird watching, especially this afternoon.
