A friend of mine who is not on Tweeters gave me the following information on
a Williamson's Sapsucker nest that she and her husband found on Saturday.

'On July 3, my husband and I spent about 40 minutes watching a pair of
Williamson's Sapsuckers feeding their young. One of the adults would return
to the nest with insects every three or four minutes and although we did not
see the young birds, they were quite vocal whenever the adults returned to
the tree. Interestingly, there was an active Tree Swallow nest about 8
inches above the Sapsucker's and we saw a pair of Red-naped Sapsuckers in the
same area.

The nest was located in a live aspen tree at the far end of McDaniel Lake.
>From Yakima, take Highway 12 to Highway 410. After turning on 410, continue
about 10 miles to Nile Road. Turn west [left] and continue approximately 3
miles to Rattlesnake Road [just before bridge] and follow the signs to
McDaniel Lake [about 11 miles]. When you reach the entrance to the lake,
follow the road to the left until you reach the last campsite which sits on a
point jutting out into the lake. The nest is in the aspens on the point.
The nest cavity is 10-12' up in the tree.
