My niece and I took a long, hot walk in the fill today and, while not the
most prolific trip I have had there. it was very pleasant. We saw:
A million young canada geese
A million swallows of all descriptions
Common yellowthroat
Orange-crowned warbler
Yellow warbler
Belted Kingfisher
A huge GBH
Male mallard in eclipse plumage
Double-crested cormorant
Black-headed grosbeak (yes, I know it's odd but it had a gross beak and a
grosbeak tail. too big for a finch)
Killdeer
Downy woodpecker
Marsh wren
Magnificent Frigatebird (ha ha ha, I wish)
We also saw many turtles sunning themselves and many homo sapiens joggerus.

When asked why she was always so cheerful,
the old woman replied,
"Well, I just wear this world as a loose garment."
