PHD STUDENT WANTED - YELLOW-EYED PENGUINS

An opportunity exists for a PhD study on yellow-eyed penguins. This is
a unique study where the student will have access to a population of
banded, known-age birds of known breeding histories, including access
to a database covering some 20 consecutive years of breeding. The
student will be supervised by Lloyd Davis and John Darby. Partial
funding is already available and suitable candidates may be eligible for
an Otago Postgraduate Scholarship (worth approx $15,000 [NZ] per
annum). Citizens of New Zealand, Australia, France and Germany pay
tuition fees at the domestic rate (approx $3,500 [NZ] per annum),
whereas citizens of other coutries would be required to pay foreign
student fees (approx $16,000 [NZ] per annum).

The successful candidate must have a very strong c.v. and must have
good statistical and database skills. Additionally, some experience
modelling would be an advantage.

Please email/send your curriculum vitae by 31 July or, for more
information, please contact:
