Subject: color banded Purple Martins

Last year Michelle Tirhi and others (Greg Schirato & Kelly McAllister)
started banding local martins in conjunction with OR and BC; they focused on
Woodard Bay near Olympia, and Hylebos Waterway in Tacoma. I can FW this to
Michelle and Kelly. Sounds like band sightings are fairly frequent, which
shows the small numbers in the area, assuming these are their bands. I've
seen two banded birds in Ballard, and have heard a report of bands at
Hermosa Pt near Marysville. The Nisqually boat ramp (McAllister Creek) has
at least one adult male with a band.
Thanks for the good news!
