Subject: Nestbox War

For the last four days there have been up to three (usually one)
swallows trying to take over(?) my nest box that is already inhabited by two
parents and three young swallows. The inhabitants of the box are nearly
constantly fighting off the invaders and are having trouble making time to
feed their babies. I have heard of this kind of behavior between other
species, but between the same species seems kind of odd. Does this happen
often?
