One of the most accessible places to find Chukars is to head out on I-90 to
the Ginko Petrified Forest Interpretive Center and State Park just north of
Vantage right before I-90 crosses the Columbia River. Park near the museum
and walk north - look over the edge of the canyon there or walk down into
it. This is also a great place to see Lark Sparrows, Canyon and Rock Wrens,
and a few other hard-to-find species. - Teresa Michelsen
