Subject: Westport Pelagic Results - July 10th

Hi Tweets,

Below is Terry Wahl's report of birds seen last Saturday on the Westport
pelagic trip. The 3 Manx Shearwaters were right off (within 1/2 mile) the
end of the Westport Jetty in a large flock of Sooty Shearwaters (~1000) and
Common Murres in the morning (0630-0700 hrs). We could not relocate them
later in the day in the large Sooty flock (~1600 hrs). The Arctic Terns
were one year old birds, similar to individuals seen in late April, and may
be birds that are summering at these latitudes rather than birds returning
from the Arctic.

Upcoming Westport trips are scheduled for 7/24, 8/7, 8/14, 8/21, and 8/28.
