So far I've just been seeing the aluminum bands, 2 in Ballard and one on an
adult male at the boat ramp by Nisqually (Luhr Beach). Apparently Vashon has
some banded martins as well.
Yesterday in Ballard I saw new arrivals, bringing the martin number up to
eight; three pairs appear to be earnest about nesting, the new arrivals have
yet to settle in. Yesterday I observed some of them picking up leaves and
checking out clam shells. One box had twigs, leaves, and clam shells, just
as I've encountered while helping to clean out boxes at Woodard Bay.

How does one get access to view the Ft Lewis martin sites?
