Saw one about 20 years ago sitting on a fence about 3 feet off of the ground,
next to the West Valley Highway in front of the Boeing Kent Space Center. I
was in my car, so guess that it was 20 feet or so. I knew it was an owl, but
not until I became interested in birding did I ever know what kind it was.
