i've seen the more 'famous' snowy visitors....i.e-capitol hill. I want to
make it more of a point to see them a little more wilder this winter. As
for owl prey, they'll take what's offered but I've done a lot of 'pellet'
disecting and for the most part Great Horned's will eat anything that moves.
A snowy owl's natural food are lemmings (lemming populations up north
directly affect how many snowy visitors we have.) Barn Owl's will be content
with microtus (as mentioned by Scott D). As for shrew's, Screechie's will
take em but shrew's are far from being the only diet for owls. Have a nice
day, everybody!! Bryan Mathews, Fed. Way, Gr8HrndOwl at aol.com
