update.

The Rare Bird Alert continues for the AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS.

Sightings for Wednesday, July 17th
The AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN was again reported from the Robert's Bank Jetty.
Two other AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were observed flying south offshore
from128th & 16th Ave. in Delta.

At Blackie Spit were a family of BULLOCK'S ORIOLES and a COMMON TERN.

Two BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were reported from the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty.

A pair of CRESTED MYNAS were at Wylie & 2nd in Vancouver. This has been a
very reliable location for anyone wishing to locate this species.

Another 2 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were seen on West Vancouvers Grebe Islets.
An ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was seen nearby at Klootchman Park.

The Iona ponds were again active this evening with the highlight birds
being an adult plummaged STILT SANDPIPER, 2 LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 10
BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS.

From Langley came the report of a SANDHILL CRANE in a cranberry field near
208th & 96th. Nearby at Derby Reach Park was a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE.
July, 13
The LITTLE GULL was reported from Iona Bay. A BAIRD'S SANDPIPER was seen
at the Iona ponds.

July, 12th
There were no reports for July 12th

July 11th
The LITTLE GULL was reported from Iona. Observed at the sewage ponds were
12 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, a LESSER YELLOWLEG and 5 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER.

A GREEN HERON and a singing LAZULI BUNTING were seen at Colony Farm
Regional Park. The Bunting was seen just north of the power lines on
Shaugnessy St.

July 10
A singing male LAZULI BUNTING was reported in trees just north of the power
lines on Shaugnessy St. at Colony Farm.

July 9
Four PURPLE MARTINS were seen at Blackie Spit. One of the birds was
observed taking nesting material to one of the nest boxes.

Four GREEN HERONS were again seen in a marshy area near 204th & 94th in
Langley.
