I saw what looked like a Western Kingbird in Golden Gardens Park in
Seattle this morning. Gray head and back with a gray breast leading to a
yellow belly, a dark malar/eye stripe, wings and tail darker, but the
bird kept its tail mostly hidden from view. It exhibited what I
understand is typical flycatcher behavior, perching on the tops of the
small evergreen trees/shrubs in the dunes area south of the ponds
between the beach and the meadow and flying up to catch insects. I've
never seen any kind of flycatcher/kingbird there before.

Nothing else new to report, multiple families of White Crowned Sparrows
and mallards, two new Red Wing Blackbird fledglings. A juv.? Kildeer on
the meadow(lawn), two B Kingfishers overhead and usually two or three
Caspian Terns overhead just off shore. Way too many Canada Geese and
crows, but I guess that's subjective..
