Subject: Black-crowned Night Heron

While birding around Port Townsend today, my wife and I
located an imm.
Black-crowned Night Heron on a mud island just behind the sewage treatment in
the large pond. The bird was located on a strip of exposed mud just off the
public works offices there. There were also some Least Sandpipers and
Short-billed Dowitchers feeding on the same mud strip.
