Dear Tweeters,

The 11th annual WOS conference in Yakima, WA on August 27-29, 1999 is
filling up fast and the registration late fee deadline of August 7th is fast
approaching. If your registration form is still sitting on the desk, get it
in soon. If you've misplaced it, you can print a new one off of our website
at www.wos.org or email me and I'll get a hardcopy mailed to you.

Yakima is located near the eastern base of the Cascade Mountains. The field
trips will be covering areas from the snowy subalpine zone, through the
Ponderosa Pine belt and into the parched shrub-steppe of the Columbia basin.
Specialty birds that will be sought after are large numbers of Lewis'
Woodpeckers, Chukar, White-throated Swift, Rock and Canyon Wrens, Solitary,
Semipalmated and Stilt Sandpipers and hopefully such vagrant warblers as
Blackpoll and Magnolia. For complete details on the field trips, please see

In addition, there will be great speakers, Dan Stephens and Ken Bevis, on
Friday and Saturday nights, plus paper presentations of Saturday afternoon.
