Chapman, Frank (ed.). BIRD-LORE. Appleton,PA. Volume 1 (1899) to Vol. 31
(1929). Missing volumes 7 and 12. All 29 volumes bound in half leather and
dark green cloth with gold lettering on spine. They are Ex-library. All have
faint white numbers on the spine, a small library stamp on the first blank
flyleaf and a pocket on the inside back cover. No other library marks. Most
volumes show minor wear to corners and edges. Six have a hinge cracked, one
has a detached front cover and three have a chip missing from the top of the
spine. Contents are all good on glossy paper. Each volume contains full page
paintings from artists such as Brooks, Horsfall and Fuertes. This is a
rarely offered long run of this influential publication which starts with
the very first volume. Early volumes are thinner while later volumes average
