Hi Tweeties!

Rare is the moment when swallows actually land and hold still long enough
to actually get a good look at them! I spied about four or five Barn
Swallows between five-thirty and six-fifteen this morning in an unusual
setting.

I think these are the swallows that are waking a number of us between
three a.m. and sunrise. I got a good bead on them with my binoculars
and actually saw the detailing on their bodies. Yes, their backs are
beautiful deep, dark blue! Nifty!

The swallows were collecting dried and brown grasses from a neighbor's
lawn as well as just resting on the driveway. On swallow was pecking at
the pavement, perhaps it found a tasty bug. It was so strange seeing
them in the driveway rather than swooping and soaring or perching on high
up on power lines.
