Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday June 3. If you have anything to add call

A very noisy TRICOLORED HERON was at Eagle Point on Upper Klamath Lake
June 2.

A NORTHERN PARULA was at Clyde Holliday State Park near John Day May 27
and 30. A MAGNOLIA WARBLER and a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER were at the
Malheur Field Station May 28. Another CHESTNUT-SIDED was at Malheur
Headquarters all week-end. A female BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at
Headquarters May 27, and a male was there May 28-29. A GREAT-TAILED
GRACKLE passed through Headquarters a few times during the week-end. A
female BLACKPOLL WARBLER was reported from there May 30. A male BALTIMORE
ORIOLE was at the south end of the Refuge May 30-31. A YELLOW-BILLED
CUCKOO was north of the P Ranch May 30-31.

Three GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were at Fields over the week-end, and a
female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was at Borax Lake May 29. Many
BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGIRDS were in Harney County during the week.

Lingering SABINE'S GULLS and KITTIWAKES are still being seen along the
coast. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in Brookings May 30. A POORWILL was
with a migrant flock of NIGHTHAWKS at New River south of bandon May 26. A
MOCKINGBIRD was also there that day.

An AVOCET was east of Florence May 30. A BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was at
the Sea Vue Motel south of Yachats May 24 and 30. Two late GLAUCOUS GULLS
were at the mouth of D River in Lincoln City during the week.

An AVOCET was on the Bayocean Flats at Tillamook Bay May 30. Two
LONG-BILLED CURLEWS were there that day among a migration of WHIMBRELS.

A female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD has been at Mt. Tabor Park in
southeast Portland all week. A BLACK SWIFT was over Mt. Tabor May 31, and
two were over the Clackamas River at Carver the same day. The MOCKINGBIRD
is still being seen near 210th. and Stark streets in Gresham. A
BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was near Portland May 17. The pair of EASTERN
KINGBIRDS are now back at their nesting site in the Sandy River Delta
near Troutdale.

An AVOCET and a pair of WILSON'S PHALAROPES were at Ankeny NWR May 29. A
BLACK TERN was near Tangent May 26. A NIGHTHAWK was in the Rogue Valley
May 26, and another was over Lebanon June 1. An ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER,
an EASTERN KINGBIRD, and a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW were at Mt. Pisgah near
Eugene during the week.

The PURPLE MARTINS are now back at their nesting sites at Hood River. A
flock of BONAPARTE'S GULLS and ten displaying CASPIAN TERNS were at the
mouth of Hood River May 26.

A territorial SWAMP SPARROW was found May 26 in the Winema National
Forest 25 miles east of Fort Klamath. Large numbers of WHITE PELICANS and
WHITE-FACED IBIS are now in the Warner Valley. A JUNIPER TITMOUSE was
along Highway 140 May 31 at the seep at Deep Creek Falls west of Adel.
