Four of us walked the nature trail at Marymoor this morning - sunny, cool, and
somewhat quiet. The rest bagged out on me, leaving me to do the rowing club
(officially Marymoor West, accessible off West Lake Sammamish Parkway just
north of the Y with Bel-Red Rd) by myself. Their loss, as the rowing club area
was great.

At the rowing club, besides the birds, I watched a Long-tailed Weasel for about
two minutes dash about on the path. There were also several turtles, and many
garter snakes, one of which was eating a slug.

Bird highlights of the day were:
Wood Duck Mom+4 young at Rowing Club. Maybe another
clutch too.
Bald Eagle Adult & at least 2 young in nest
California Quail Pair at the Rowing Club
Mourning Dove One across from Dog Central
Red-eyed Vireo One at first footbridge along slough - very
well marked
Red-breasted Nuthatch One heard at the start of boardwalk - unusual
Swainson's Thrush Many good sightings, mostly calling, one singing
Yellow Warbler Good looks at RC
Lazuli Bunting Pair at RC.
Bullock's Oriole 1 or 2 young males at RC
Purple Finch Female at RC

The Red-eyed Vireo, Yellow Warbler, Lazuli Bunting, and Bullock's Oriole were
all first sightings of spring for me at Marymoor.

We heard many Wilson's Warbler too, but never managed to see one.

I felt very proud of myself because I confidently identified the female Lazuli
Bunting about 2 minutes before the male showed up in the same tree.
