Hi Tweets -

This morning a group in my Seattle Beginning Birding Field Class and I
walked a loop in Discovery Park from the Visitors Center. Nice morning,
break in the clouds. Had a Band-tailed Pigeon doing its flutter flight
early on. Excellent close looks at Black-capped Chickadees, Song
Sparrows, Spotted Towhees and Brown Creepers. Good study of a family of
young Bewick's Wrens and their parents. A Pileated Woodpecker called a
couple of times from the hillside above the Visitors Center. On top, by
the old military housing area we got nice looks at Savannah Sparrows and
White-crowned Sparrows. Had a group of about 12 Black Swifts pass over
us heading east. All in all a nice leisurely morning.
