With a little bit of discourse on hand-held radios (walkie-talkies), I
would like to ask for opinions as to what would be good investment. At our
turkey vulture site in the fall, we often have wished for such radios. If
there is heavy fog, one of us goes to the top of Striped Peak, a very short
distance as the crow flies, but ca. 10 miles driving. There, the
visibility onto the strait is usually clear. If we had radios, as we have
often wished, we could keep up-to-date on what is or isn't being seen (away
from the fog!).

Any recommendations on these radios would be much appreciated. Please feel
free to contact me privately in case it would clog up bandwidth for other
tweeters :-)
