I posted a request for help identifying a bird feeding nestlings on Friday
and then left for the weekend. Most suggested a bushtit, probably cause I
noted the adult wagged it's tail a lot. The problem is, this was an open
nest and the bushtit has a hanging nest with a side opening. A wren was
suggested, but all the wrens I know are cavity nesters. Other suggestions
were kinglet, vireo, and willow flycatcher. Thanks to everyone who
responded, right now I'm leaning toward willow flycatcher. I'll take
binoculars when I return this week, maybe they'll still be in the area.
