Hi, Debie and Tweets

What a neat report of the Swainson's Hawks on the fenceposts near Moxee.
While at a conference in Utah in June of 1998, Ann van der Geld and I went
on one of the planned field trips to what I think was called "Skull Valley"
(not positive of the name), south and west of Salt Lake City. The weather
was quite, shall we say, agitated: thunder and lightning then sunshine
then heavy downpours. At one area of rolling fields we encountered nearly
200 Swainson's Hawks during one of these downpours accompanied by thunder
and lightning. They were lined up on fenceposts parallel to the road
evidently awaiting more helpful weather to their migration. Quite a sight,
as I'm sure yours was.
