Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Wednesday June 9. If you have anything to add call
Harry Nehls at 233-3976.

On June 2 a BLUE JAY visited a feeder in Warren, near St. Helens. It did
not remain. A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was near Rocky Point on Upper
Klamath Lake June 7.

A CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was at Benson Pond in Malheur NWR June 5.
Another was in Fields the next day along with a PLUMBEOUS VIREO and a
RESTART. A NORTHERN PARULA was in Fields June 7. On June 4 the
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO and a GREEN HERON were along Five-mile Lake, north
of P Ranch. The GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES are still being seen at Malheur
Headquarters and in Fields.

The migrations are about over west of the Cascades, but many birds are
still passing through eastern Oregon.

A FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL was at the North Jetty of Coos Bay, and a
PIPIT was on the nearby beach June 6. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was along the
Lane County coast June 1, and one was at the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay
June 3. A RUDDY TURNSTONE, a PEREGRINE FALCON, a SABINE'S GULL, and
several BROWN PELICANS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River June
6. Two KITTIWAKES were at Ecola State Park that day.

Two late GREATER YELLOWLEGS and an adult BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON were
at Ridgefield NWR June 6. The pair of EASTERN KINGBIRDS are now at their
nesting site in the Sandy River Delta. On June 6 four WESTERN KINGBIRDS
were in the area.

Recently both BLACK-BACKED and THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS have been seen at
the Benson Snowpark near Hoodoo Ski Bowl at Santiam Pass. There is still
a lot of snow in the area.

On May 4 a MARBLED GODWIT and two SANDERLINGS were at the mouth of Hood
River. The next day a WHIMBREL was there, and on May 8 a CLARK'S GREBE
was in the Columbia River there.

On June 3 a BLACK SWIFT was flying over the Crooked River at the Ogden
State Wayside on Highway 97. A female ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was near Fossil
May 29.

During the week a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was south of Ontario, and a pair
of RED-NECKED GREBES were on Malheur Reservoir north of Vale.

This recording will not be updated next week.

Thats it for this week.
