Hi Tweets,

I am contemplating a trip to the other side of the mountains and was
wondering what is flowering at various elevations. Don't need a species
list just an indication. Debating whether it is too early for the edge
of Hell's Canyon or too late for Fossil Beds or the Wahluke slope.
Never been to either. Also thinking about the John Day River and over
to Baker. Any suggestions? info?

On the bird front....Common nighthawks were seen last Wednesday (6/9)
night flying overhead here on Guemes Island as I walked back from
checking on some screech owlets that fledged (6/4) a week ago. Two
fluffy gray squawkers chittering in the cedar boughs at dusk keep their
reddish mom busy serving a selection of invertebrates.

Nos vemos y gracias, P.
