Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I combined a half day in E.King Co. of birding and
dragonfly collecting , E of Carnation along Stossel Crk. and Langendorfer
Lk., which is well wooded area with a combination of old and second-growth
forest, with riparian margains that contain marshy edges. A total of 11
species of dragonflies were noted at this location, which is one of the
best King. Co. locations for dragonflies in a association with Dennis
Paulson's new guide entitled DRAGONFLIES OF WASHINGTON, a 31 page pictured
guide put out by the Seattle Audubon Society in limited numbers. Species
included :

Dot-tailed Whiteface
Eight-spotted Skimmer
Blue Dasher
Four-spotted Skimmer
Common Whitetail
Pacific Forktail
Boreal Bluet
Northern Bluet
Cardinal Meadowhawk
California Darner
Chalk-fronted Corporal

Birding was quite slow, but several notables during our visit included 2
COMMON NIGHTHAWKS(overhead),1 COOPER'S HAWK, and several WILLOW FLYCATCHERS
in and around the lake and creek edges.
