Teresa and I ran the Nicolai Mt Breeding Bird Survey this morning.
The final count was 60 species, 663 individuals.

Birds of note included HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER not recorded since 1991,
OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER absent since 1995 and new to the count
WESTERN SCREECH OWL.

There are at least 10 PURPLE MARTINS at the Ziak Refuge using the
hanging gourd nest thingies.

All species of neotrops were present in average numbers. Notable misses
include woodpeckers (only one DOWNY all morning.)
