I've seen several comments on rat baiting and have a few comments. Warfarin
is rarely used in rat bait anymore. There is a whole generation of newer
rodenticides that are more effective and most bait manufacturers use one of
them.

There are several sturdy bait boxes available that will exclude birds,
squirrels and other non-target animals. Bait boxes must be secured to the
ground or large animals, like dogs, can tip them over and spill out bait.
You can buy them from Kemi-K products in Seattle at 206-525-3600 or toll free
1-800-562-5364. If you are in the Tacoma area you can call me at
253-535-1818 or toll free at 1-888-959-1818.

If you feed birds, squirrels and other wildlife, you should consider rat and
mouse management. Since they are primarily nocturnal, people often do not
realize there is a problem until the population is quite high.
