Subject: Yellow-breasted chat - NOT!

Hi.

Even though probably no one read my note about supposedly
finding a yellow-breasted chat by the Kent Ponds (since
no-one sent anything saying that might not be the case),
I feel I have to publicly say that what I saw at the Kent
Ponds on Sunday was apparently a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. I'd
never seen either one before and so when I went to look up
the bird I'd seen, I first tried the YBCH, just because I'd
heard the name bandied about on Tweeters a bit. But in
Peterson's FG, the yellow-breasted chat and the Common
yellowthroat are right next to each other, and I mistakenly
thought that the male yellowthroat was the male yellow-breasted
chat. I missed the little line, "sexes alike", that was under
the yellow-breasted chat. Fortunately I was checking in
my other field guides yesterday. It was a stupid mistake and
I don't want it hanging out there without rectification.

So now I've learned to be more careful - and to count to
ten before I post something on Tweeters.

Sorry about that.
