Gail and other interested tweets,
I am interested in this topic as I'm wondering if Swainson's in BC occupy
a different habitat than they do in the puget area? In my nest searching
we have been finding Swainson's nests in very thick Salmonberry, anywhere
from 1 foot above the ground to 3 feet above the ground. Do they nest
higher in other places? This is not a good comparison of competition as
Veeries are not present in the puget area. So my main question is do
Veeries change Swainson's preference when they are present and if so to
what degree?
Thanks,
