Hi Tweets!

I went out again, this time with my binocular down to the "Old Fishing
Hole" here in Kent. A couple of Red Wing Blackbirds were chattering up a
frenzy as I rounded the pond. I watched both birds nervously fluttering
around. I saw the female go into the cattails and heard a shrill little
squawk.

NEST!!!!!!!!!

I back tracked a bit and the birds got into a bigger tizzy. I gazed into
the reeds and realized I was staring at the occupied nest. I moved in
close to the edge of the pond and in the nest was a frowsy young Red
Wing! It had a mangey motley combination of fuzzy feathers and adult
type feathers and huge eyes. The baby was totally motionless as I stared
at it.
The parent birds were hypertensive in their squawking and flapping.

I left after about two minutes, so the parent birds could relax.
