Okay, okay, okay!! After an overwhelming number of replies, here's
a synopsis:

The concensus is that it's a real organization and a worthy cause.
And in response to some of the questions and information I got,
Irene Potter tells me the News Tribune out of Tacoma reported that
the Bill Gates Foundation just donated $250,000, they've raised a
total of $7.85 million, with $13.8 million needed by July 1.

The State of Washington set the July 1 deadline for the Loomis Forest
Foundation. The Foundation will be able to use the money they raise
to buy up the forest, and whatever they are unable to buy in this
forest will be opened up to logging.

If anyone wants the URL again, let me know. Remember, this is saving
habitat for birds too.
