Just a comment after Rahne's suggestion of Spencer Island and your original
comment as to using mine and the Wahl-Paulsen books: the map of Spencer
Island in my book is incorrect. The publisher hired a map-maker to do the
maps and he goofed on that one, unfortunately. When my book was written,
Spencer Island wasn't even open; luckily, now it is quite an interesting
place to bird and one I think you would enjoy. You can almost see the
highway you will be traveling on from there!

Hope you have a great trip. There are lots of places to bird between
Seattle and Bellingham that aren't too far off I-5.
