We had spotted a Pileated nest in a dead alder, not far from home, some time
ago and later saw a young head sticking out Then they seemed to make
themselves scarce . Today the parents have brought two "pinkies" to the
trees in the yard to feed. The mother bird was feeding them but they were
also foraging for themselves. What a treat to see and hear.
