For those wonder where the Para Ponds are near Othello, take Broadway
(west end of town) north, crossing the RR tracks, canal, and down the
hill past potato storage sheds (road is now called McManamon Road).
The Para Ponds are the first wetlands beyond the sheds, north of the
old potato settling ponds, where you often see lots of waterfowl, y-h
blackbirds, and b-n stilts. The land is owned by the Para family.
