Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday June 24. If you have anything to add call

An EASTERN PHOEBE, first observed June 10, continues to be seen at Valley
of the Rogue State Park along I5 south of Grants pass. It is coming to a
large white house across the river from the park.

An EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE was at Fields June 19. A COMMON GRACKLE was in
Port Orford June 17 and 18. A BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW was in a Clackamas
County clear-cut near Scotts Mill June 12. On June 19 a PLUMBEOUS VIREO
and a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was on Stukel Mountain south of Klamath
Falls.

The first HEERMANN'S GULL of the season was at Coos Bay June 20. Four
WILLETS were at Bandon June 18, and an early WESTERN SANDPIPER was at New
River June 21. A WESTERN and an EASTERN KINGBIRD were near Cape Blanco
June 22.

A MOCKINGBIRD, a WHIMBREL, and a WILSON'S PHALAROPE were at Yaquina Bay
last week. A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was in Lincoln City June 12. A BREWER'S
SPARROW was near Astoria June 9, and a WESTERN KINGBIRD was in Warrenton
June 13.

On June 18 a WHITE PELICAN was on the Columbia River near the Portland
Airport. It, or another, was on Vancouver Lake June 21. RED-EYED VIREOS
are now being reported from Virginia Lake on Sauvie Island, from Smith
Lake in North Portland, in the Sandy River Delta, at the mouth of the
Luckiamute River in Polk County, and near Crabtree in Linn County.

A pair of WESTERN KINGBIRDS are nesting this year near Ankeny NWR south
of Salem. An EASTERN KINGBIRD was on Mt. Pisgah, near Eugene June 22. On
June 15 a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW and two BREWER'S SPARROWS were along
Highway 126 at Trailbridge Reservoir Dam in SE Linn County.

A family of BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRDS was reported June 19 near Flora,
north of Enterprise, and a SABINE'S GULL was seen recently at Richland in
Baker County. A LEAST FLYCATCHER was seen along the Umatilla River east
of Pendleton June 20 at milepost 12.8 on Cayuse Road.

A MOCKINGBIRD was at Lonerock in Gilliam County June 17. On June 12 a
GREEN HERON was at the Prineville Sewage Ponds, and a HERRING GULL was at
Ochoco Reservoir. Two BOBOLINKS were at Paisley June 20. That day three
MARBLED GODWITS were at the Summer Lake WA.

On June 7 a NORTHERN PARULA was in Fields. A female BLACK-THROATED GREEN
WARBLER and a female SUMMER TANAGER was at Malheur Headquarters June 13.
A REDSTART was there the next day. A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was
there June 17.

The OFO Convention in Lakeview was a huge success this year. Among the
187 species recorded were good numbers of JUNIPER TITMICE, BLUE-GRAY
GNATCATCHERS, and a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW.
